To further deepen university-enterprise collaboration and support the development of South China University of Technology's biomedical engineering program, DiQi Pharmaceuticals Co., Ltd. and the School of Biomedical Science and Engineering have initiated multi-dimensional, close cooperation through models such as the Guangdong Provincial Joint Graduate Training Demonstration Base, industry-academia-research projects, and university-enterprise face-to-face initiatives.
DiQi Pharmaceuticals Co., Ltd is located on the picturesque Guangzhou International Bio-Island, where autumn still brings lush greenery and blooming flowers. On October 24, 35 students from Class 1 of the 2019 cohort in Biomedical Engineering at South China University of Technology visited Guangzhou DiQi Pharmaceuticals Co., Ltd. First, the students toured DiQi's honors and certifications, corporate culture wall, and laboratories, gaining insights into the company's culture and the processes of drug research, development, and industrialization.
Subsequently, the students engaged in an interactive exchange with Dr. Liu Feng, the company's Chairman and General Manager. Drawing on his own research and entrepreneurial journey, Dr. Liu shared his personal growth experiences within the industry. He addressed questions raised by the students regarding the commercialization of research outcomes, differences between academic and corporate research approaches, and future development directions for their respective disciplines.
Students were inspired and enlightened during the exchange, expressing that they not only felt the abundant positive energy and scientifically rigorous R&D atmosphere within DiQi's corporate culture, but also had their interest in drug development and industrialization ignited. This experience clarified their future career development plans and provided them with a clearer understanding of their future studies and job search.
